Sketchbooks
Sketchbooks come in all shapes and sizes, but since travelling to Antarctica as artist-in-residence aboard an expedition ship, pocket-sized book, black water-soluble pencil, mini watercolour box (5 x 8 cm) and a waterfilled brush have become constant companions. A few pages give a flavour of instant note-taking at home an abroad, from the excitement of a tabular ice berg to the fitting of a new kitchen sink.
